InTeRnEt ShOpPiNg

Internet shopping is probably single handedly
the worst invention ever.

Reason being:
When you are snowed in shopping online is the
most legit thing to do, and it keeps you really
entertained.

Unfortunately:
Because you are snowed in UPS is not able to
deliver you your packages.

What a rip off ... Seriously ...

SnOw BuNnY

After the nice 2 ft of perfect powder dumped on us
within a matter of 24 hours, a snow bunny is what
I have become ...

It is the most incredible feeling looking outside at
all of the pure white covering, like nothing else in
the world is going on, nothing else even matters ...
and the fact that your car is buried and you don't
even know where to begin looking for it doesn't even
phase you ...

Everyone is running around in snow pants, snow
jackets, snow hats, snow boots, and snow shovels,
it is like we actually live on top of a mountain in our cute winter
condos ...

It feels as if we should all be walking around with skii's
and snowboards in hand ready to shoot down the
mountain at any moment's notice ...

Pushing the feeling of real life, work, grocery shopping, and
actually needing to find your car and dig it out of 2+ ft
of snow, minus the shovel, out of your mind ...

Because at this moment, everything is just all too peaceful ...

Poker Face

Notice how most of us walk through life with our poker
faces on ..
Why is it that we constantly have our guards up?
Afraid of getting hurt, afraid of being betrayed ..

And there always ends up being that one person who comes
along and helps you tear
them down, almost instantly.
Almost too easily, and then you remember hearing,
"Love just happens, you will just know"
So you go with it, thinking that this could be the real deal.
Everything is absolutely
wonderful with the walls down, until all
of the sudden

BAM

that person ef's you over within moments, almost like you didn't
even matter.
Shattering all of that moments hopes and dreams..
RUDE. COMPLETELY RUDE.

Just when you think you know someone ...

"Holic" Tenancies

My mother always worried that my sister
and/or I would go down the wrong path and
easily become alcoholics. I have recently
decided that alcoholic is the lesser issue
here and that there are different "Holic" tenancies
to worry more about ...

How is a "Holic" tenancy described? ..

An unhealthy obsession; something you just
CAN NOT STOP DOING
without the
overwhelming feeling that you
might die at
any moment without it.

I have discovered that I have many of these
"Holic" tenancies .. to name a few ..

  • Coffee Drinking
  • Purchasing music off of iTunes
  • Watching The Office
  • Texting
  • McDonalds Breakfast

etc ...

In my opinion all can definitely be considered extremely "unhealthy"
and all of which can and should be viewed just as negatively
as the so feared alcoholic .. I guess that's all we need ..
just a few more "Holics" ...

All Hail the Heartbreaker

As far as I'm concerned ..

Goodbye mistakes ..
For the past I can hardly remember ...

Goodbye ..

I have been waiting for this day, the day
that I would get to leave this floor permanently.
I am usually one to deal well with change.

But walking off 7 North tonight was rough.
There's just something about when you get
what you want .. sometimes it just feels all wrong.

Despite all of the verbal abuse, and cranky employees
who are stuck in their ways, I had formed
relationships with these people, more good than bad.
It had started to feel like home.

After 9 months of being treated like the "FNG",
I became molded into a pretty darn good HUC ..
I have faith that I made the right decision to
transfer to PICU. New relationships, new challenges..
It's where I have always wanted to end up. And
honestly, I don't think I could have done it without
the help of all the good and all the bad ..

I hope I don't let these people in PICU down and
hope I can continue to be the cheerful, thick skinned,
efficient HUC that I have learned to be on 7.

Goodbye 7 North.
I will truly miss you ..

Relationship Status

Some co workers and I were talking today about my “new guy”, whom I have been seeing for about a month. There has been no mention of relationship status and he hasn’t met any of my friends, let alone family, although I have met a few of his friends. But this weekend is a big weekend, it’s my birthday weekend. My best friend is throwing a HUGE bash in which my “new guy” is going to attend.

The valid point my co workers brought up was, what am I going to introduce him as when he meets my friends?

Questions running through my head:

  • When is it ok to consider someone your boyfriend?
  • And does it even need to be stated once you reach a certain age?
  • How are you supposed to introduce this person to your friends if you don’t know the relationship “Status”?
  • Do you just introduce them with their name, or is it necessary to dub a title as well?
  • How long can you date someone before defining the relationship?
  • Is it really necessary to have the awkward boyfriend/girlfriend conversation?
